Siamak Ghasemi, referring to the importance of enhancing safety, security, and control infrastructure in ports, stated: "The project for the supply and installation of electronic security and access control systems for the ports of Shahid Bahonar and the east of the province has been implemented over a period of 15 months at the ports of Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Haqqani, Jask, and Sirik."
He added: "The total contract value of this project amounts to over 388 billion rials, implemented with the aim of enhancing the level of physical and electronic protection, increasing the safety factor, and improving access control and management processes in the ports."
Explaining the various components of this project, the Deputy for Technical and Engineering Affairs of the Shahid Bahonar and East Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Management stated: "Within the framework of this plan, various infrastructure and equipment have been supplied and installed, including buildings constructed with LSFT structures, servers, boom barriers, license plate recognition cameras, UPS systems, traffic lights, X-Ray gate devices, biometric gate systems, facial recognition equipment, and surveillance cameras."
Referring to the advantages of implementing this project in the field of access control and management, Ghasemi clarified: "The mechanization of entry and exit control processes, the possibility of more precise identification of individuals and vehicles, the intelligent recording and monitoring of movements, and the reduction of dependence on manual processes are among the most important achievements of implementing this plan."
He continued: "The use of smart and integrated systems at the entry and exit points of ports, while increasing the speed and accuracy of the access control process, provides the possibility of continuous and more precise monitoring of the movement of individuals and vehicles, and by reducing human errors, contributes to enhancing the level of safety and security of port environments."
The Deputy for Technical and Engineering Affairs of the Shahid Bahonar and East Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Management noted: "The utilization of technologies such as face recognition, license plate reading, biometric control, and video surveillance systems makes it possible for information to be recorded and monitored more precisely, and for the management and control of entry and exit points to be carried out with greater order and efficiency."
Ghasemi added: "The implementation of this project also provides the groundwork for enhancing the smartening of the ports' security infrastructure, increasing monitoring and control capability, facilitating authorized access processes, and enhancing operational productivity, and constitutes an effective step on the path of developing the technical and engineering infrastructure of the ports of Shahid Bahonar and East Hormozgan."
In conclusion, he said: "The development and updating of technical and engineering infrastructure and the use of modern technologies are among the important approaches of the Shahid Bahonar and East Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Management in line with enhancing safety, security, smartening, and operational productivity of the ports."
